Meet the VC is a monthly event hosted by Escalon and its partners. Every month, we sit down with a VC to get answers to your questions about fundraising, investment thesis, and the current investment climate.
There will be Q&A at the end of the interview, so get your questions ready!
This month’s speaker is Parikshit Sharma, Partner at IndieBio.
As a Partner, Parikshit is engaged in investments and operations at all stages of the fund, from sourcing to growth. He is responsible for the execution of follow-on investments for the IndieBio portfolio.
Parikshit started his career at IndieBio and has seen firsthand what it takes to build a deep tech startup, sitting right next to the founders, in the trenches. Observing recurring dichotomies, the hard decisions, and human costs when it comes to prototyping, company building, and market discovery at the earliest stages has been foundational in defining his investment and operational lenses. To that end, he works in high resolution with portfolio companies on milestone mapping, building data rooms, and health/techno-economic modeling.
IndieBio, an @SOSV startup development program, helps the best scientists become entrepreneurs who build breakthrough companies.
The IndieBio program is part of SOSV, which is a US-based venture fund that specializes in early stage investments in categories, namely biotech (IndieBio), Hard tech (HAX), cross-border consumer and enterprise in Asia (Orbit Startups) and blockchain (dlab). SOSV’s programs are designed to provide founders intensive, 1:1 help from technical experts and startup mentors in well-equipped facilities develop their products and launch their companies.
