About Neel Mehta
Neel Mehta is an Investor at G2 Venture Partners where he is focused on finding the next generation of technology companies that will advance our industrial economy into the digital age.
Previously, Neel was an early operator at Zoox — a 1,300-person start-up developing fully autonomous, all-electric vehicles purpose-built for urban ride-sharing. During his five-year tenure, Neel led Strategy, Go-To-Market, Corporate Development, and FP&A teams. As a senior business leader, he supported two capital raises totalling $700M, spearheaded the decision to launch operations in Las Vegas, and built the business case for Zoox’s long-range electric powertrain strategy. Most recently, Neel served on the core deal team in Zoox’s sale to Amazon, where he played key roles in negotiation, diligence, and integration.
Neel began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he partnered with top Wall Street Autos Analyst, Adam Jonas, on controversial, but successful stock calls including Tesla (TSLA), Ferrari (RACE), and Fiat Chrysler (FCAU). Together, they researched disruptive trends in ride-sharing, electrification, and autonomous technology and developed frameworks to help institutional investors understand impending paradigm shifts in mobility. Prior to that, Neel was a Commodity Strategist and Equity Sales & Trading Analyst.
Neel currently sits on the Board of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross where he serves on the Philanthropy Committee and volunteers as a smoke alarm installer.
Neel holds a B.S. in Economics and Public Policy Studies from Duke University where he was a Joel Fleishman Distinguished Scholar. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. Neel’s interest in sustainable tech stems from college during which he lived in Duke’s Smart Home — the first live-in, LEED Platinum laboratory on a college campus.
